LGBTQ … May we disagree?

Clayton Kershaw, a pitcher for the Los Angeles Dodgers, was made to wear a team hat with a rainbow logo. He wrote “Gen 9:12-16” beside the logo. He was forced to wear a logo that went against his beliefs and then was chastised for adding his belief to the hat.1

Jelly Roll is now facing adversaries because he stated that “woke doesn’t deserve to be celebrated. I won’t be part of this agenda. June is for everyone, not just for politics.”2

Recently, I was bullied by Marxists liberal “Christians” because I do not agree with them. I believe sin should be repented of and not celebrated.

The aforementioned situations occurred within the past week of writing this blog. Similar situations have been occurring for much longer.

Leftisits will bully others that do not agree with them.

We live in a world where Marxists liberals are not willing to be tolerant of Biblically held views.

Problem: Marxist liberals will suggest that the only way to acknowledge someone’s existence and to make them feel imporant, requires for you to abandon Biblical teaching. The mindset reeks of domination. The suggestion also suggest that they will withhold civility if you disagree with them.May we disagree or do we now live in a world where civility is only allowed amongst those of shared beliefs? Do we no longer live in a world where we can disagree about something amd still be kind, loving, helpful toward one another?

Do I have to agree with you to:

  1. Like You

  2. Help You

  3. Show you love

  4. Serve You

  5. Die for you

G.K. Beale stated, “the tribulation consists of pressures to compromise faith, these pressures coming both from within the church community through seductive teaching and from without through overt oppression.”3 The issue of homosexuality is certainly one of the issues that has infiltrated into some churches and has caused pressure on others to accept as a norm (Revelation 2: 9).

The Bible has a Code of Ethics: no lying (Exodus 20:16; 23:1); no cheating (Exodus 20: 14); be gentle and reverent (1 Peter 3); etc. The Gospel Coalition stated, “Christian ethics is guided by God’s revelation in Scripture above other systems of thought as it seeks to love God and neighbor in every moral and ethical issue.” The Christian’s highest ethical job is to love God with heart, mind and soul. The second ethical job is to love their neighbor as themselves (Matthew 22).

As a Christian, what happens when I break one of these ethical codes? I am supposed to repent (Ezra 10: 1, 4, Joel 1: 13; Matthew 3: 2). The Bible even tells us that there are boundaries around people that we are romantically involved with: no sex before marriage (Matthew 15: 19; Mark 7: 21; 1 Corinthians 6: 18; Galatians 5); no lusting (Matthew 5: 28; 1 John 2: 16; Colossians 3: 5; 1 Peter 5 :8); no cheating on your spouse (Exodus 20: 14; Matthew 5: 27-28).

No homosexuality.

John Stott stated, “The true ‘orientation’ of Christians is not what we are by constitution, but what we are by choice.”

1 Corinthians 6: 9 - Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals,

2 Timothy 1: 10 - and immoral men and homosexuals and kidnappers and liars and perjurers, and whatever else is contrary to sound teaching,

Romans 1: 22-27 - 22 Professing to be wise, they became fools, 23 and exchanged the glory of the incorruptible God for an image in the form of corruptible man and of birds and four-footed animals and crawling creatures. 24 Therefore God gave them over in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, so that their bodies would be dishonored among them. 25 For they exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen. 26 For this reason God gave them over to degrading passions; for their women exchanged the natural function for that which is unnatural, 27 and in the same way also the men abandoned the natural function of the woman and burned in their desire toward one another, men with men committing indecent acts and receiving in their own persons the due penalty of their error.

1 Timothy 1 - 8 But we know that the Law is good, if one uses it lawfully, 9 realizing the fact that law is not made for a righteous person, but for those who are lawless and rebellious, for the ungodly and sinners, for the unholy and profane, for those who kill their fathers or mothers, for murderers 10 and immoral men 1and homosexuals 1and kidnappers 1and liars 1and perjurers, and whatever else is contrary to sound teaching,

Leviticus 18: 22 - You shall not lie with a male as one lies with a female; it is an abomination

Leviticus 20: 13 - If there is a man who lies with a male as those who lie with a woman, both of them have committed a detestable act; they shall surely be put to death. They bloodguiltiness is upon them.

Genesis 19: 4-5 - 4Before they lay down, the men of the city, the men of Sodom, surrounded the house, both young and old, all the people from every quarter; 5and they called to Lot and said to him, “Where are the men who came to you tonight? Bring them out to us that we may have relations with them.”

2 Peter 2: 6 and if He condemned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah to destruction by reducing them to ashes, having made them an example to those who would live ungodly lives thereafter; 7 and if He rescued righteous Lot, oppressed by the sensual conduct of unprincipled men.

Matt Brown wrote a blog entitled, “How did Jesus act toward sinners?” Matt is an evangelist, author of “Truth Plus Love, host of “Think Eternity with Matt Brown, and founder of “Think Eternity.” He stated that Jesus did three things: (1) Jesus taught us not to judge others; (2) Jesus showed mercy to people caught in sin; (3) Jesus didn’t hide truth.
